China's chief administrative authority has announced plans to establish a financial relief system for the physically-impaired children across the country, aiming to offer them free .
On May 30, Premier presided over an executive meeting of the State Council. Officials at the meeting decided to allocate funds to assist local governments' efforts to help those from this disadvantaged group get relief from the struggles of ill health.
From October 1, impoverished physically-impaired children under seven will have access to free medical assistance including surgery and rehabilitation sessions.
It is expected that nearly all qualified children will benefit from the system by 2020, according to a spokesperson.
